Theory & Practical Components

Basic Emergency Life Support is made up of both theory and practical first aid elements. On the day, you'll expect to complete the following areas of first aid.

What to Expect on the Day

  1. This first aid course will start with some basic enrolment exercises (i.e. paperwork)
  2. Short after you'll be able to start your CPR component
    • It's a nation-wide requirement that CPR be completed on the ground. We ask that you dress comfortably.
    • CPR is an automatic inclusion of this first aid course.
  3. After CPR you'll move into role play and practical first aid training (i.e. Bandaging exercises, mock emergency situations, etc)
  4. Towards the end of the day you'll sit a theory exam. The exam will consist of written answers in the form of multiple choice and short form answers. Your first aid trainer may also choose to verbally assess you.

Your day will also include a break, however the time and duration of this is dependent on your first aid trainer's discretion.
